Oakland International Academy is run by a five member Board of Directors which is responsible for the overall operation of the school. The Board meets monthly and hires a Management Company to take care of staffing, program development, and day-to-day operational needs of the school.
Dr. ElBohy has a Ph.D. Biomechanics, WSU, 1988. He currently is a Senior Specialist, Vehicle Safety Office, Chrysler Group LLC. This is his second term serving on the Board. He brings management and technical expertise to enhance the current board ability to execute their strategic planning and future expansion projects.
Alaa Elmoursi holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and currently works as a Principal Engineer at Eaton Innovation Center. He was one of the founders of Oakland International Academy and has served on its Board since the school inception in September 1999. He brings management skills and strategic planning skills to the Board. In addition his engineering background has been very useful in the school's construction, renovation and expansion projects.
Rashed S. Rabaa earned his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University. He is currently a CAE Senior Lead Engineer atGeneral Motors working on current and future development of electrical vehicles with concentration on high voltage lithium batteries. He has over 25+ of industrial experience in automotive product development, modeling, and simulation. He is an official elected member of the GM University Relations Team Coordinator (URT) at Virginia Tech. University. He Successfully championed the establishment of a new CAE-Electrical Analysis group for GM Technical Center in Bangalore, India. And Trained, mentored, and led a team of electrical engineers at GM Technical Center and at GM-India He Earned his Six Sigma BLACK BELT Certification in May 2007 & GREEN BELT certification in April 2005. He authored and presented several technical papersand within GM and users conferences. He participated in SAE World in motion, Electrical/Electronic Focus groups, and SAE-EDA Activities. Prior working experiences, Rashed was an “Advanced System Engineer” at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Assistant Professor at Olivet College –Math Department, and Teaching Assistance at Wayne State University.
Mr. Bassem Moez currently serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors at Oakland International Academy. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2014. As a financial planner, he not only brings his financial expertise to the Board but he also brings a knowledge and understanding of the community served by the school.
Mr. Sajid Sayed. Appointed in January of 2021, Mr. Sayed is an active community member. He also serves on the board of AWAM. AWAM provides education, academic and human skills development for children who are orphans or from families living below poverty. Also on the board of American Society of Religious and Cultural Understanding (ASRCU), Mr. Sayed provides support as the chaplain at the Oakland County Correctional Facility.
