Oakland International Academy Virtual Learning
Oakland International Academy prides itself on forward movement and innovative uses of technology to support learning. The virtual learning option at Oakland International Academy is a blend of asynchronous and/or synchronous learning. We encourage parents to carefully consider if virtual courses are ideal for their child. Parents should carefully consider the unique qualities of their child when investigating if virtual learning is right for them. Some of the factors to include:
Does your student possess the independent study habits needed to complete an entire course virtually without direct supervision?
Does your student have the reading, writing, math and computer literacy skills to succeed in a class that is completely virtual?
Can your student create and maintain a study schedule without face-to-face interaction with a teacher and without collaboration with other students?
Can your student self-advocate and seek help in a virtual setting?
Virtual learning through Oakland International Academy helps students meet their fullest potential by working in partnership with families to provide rigorous virtual learning that is OIA teacher-mentored and tailored to meet the needs of students from all academic backgrounds. OIA provides students with a top-notch education and maintains valuable family relationships based on the shared belief that the student always comes first.
To enroll:
Complete Oakland International Academy Enrollment Form
Upon completion of the enrollment application, an email will be sent with instructions to upload the documents below.
1- Students birth certificate
2- One proof of Michigan residency (i.e, Driver Licence, utility bill)
3- Virtual Learning Parent Consent Form
4- Oakland International Academy Virtual Learning Agreement
5- Immunization Record
All up to date immunization records/waiver must be submitted by September 30, 2024. All immunization waivers from the local health department must be dated after January 1, 2023
